The Role

 

Generator Service Engineer

 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will provide maintenance, installation, diagnosis, repair, and testing services across a range of diesel generator sets and associated equipment. Support is primarily conducted at client’s premises however there are times it will be conducted at head office base in Hull.

 

Key tasks include:

 

  • Conducting PPM, diagnostic, testing and remedial works on Diesel/Bio Diesel Generators.

  • Conducting client site visits and generating accurate and timely reports.

  • Projecting spares requirements for upcoming and planned works.

  • Customer liaison, always ensuring complete customer satisfaction.

  • Supporting operational tasks i.e., reporting, quotations, progress reports, customer enquiries etc.

  • Generator load testing and fuel polishing.

  • installation and setup of generator remote monitoring systems.

  • Fault diagnostic using thermal imaging cameras.

  • Generator commission and installation.

Skills 

​

Essential: â€‹

  • Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles.

  • A responsible approach to health and safety and able to maintain the highest of standards to be able to work in an organised, safe and systematic way.

  • Provide maintenance services in-line with the engineer’s call-out rota.

  • Flexible approach to working hours.

  • Happy with high mileage driving, occasionally working away from home and very minimal weekend work.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office programs.

  • Able to work collaboratively as part of customer focussed, well-motivated and disciplined team.

  • Maintains the highest standards of cleanliness & personal presentation.

  • Possess a positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills​
     

Desirable: â€‹

  • Holds a Safety passport/CSCS card.

  • Already own electrical & mechanical tool kit.

  • Knowledge of electrical wiring regulations.

  • A proven trac record within Diesel Engines/Generators.
