Producing a diverse range of technical injection moulded products for blue chip household name clients across a range of market sectors including automotive, HVAC, filtration, and technical plastics. 

Over the past four years, both the Hull site and the Group have grown significantly, and Group turnover has now surpassed £35 million by gaining more market share through acquisitions, investing in the factory infrastructure, and diversifying their product range.

​Last year the business celebrated its 30th anniversary and also won the prestigious ‘Processor of the Year’ award at the annual Plastic Industry Awards. Advanced Plastics Ltd remain the preferred partner for their existing long-term clients and the obvious choice for potential new customers. Over the past 30 years, they have adapted a unique service offering which offers their customers a full end to end process, starting with the design and development, right through to manufacturing at the highest quality.

In June 2022, Advanced Plastics Group Ltd acquired Protool Group. The Advanced Plastics Group is now strategically placed to service customers locally in three key regions of the UK offering a combined capacity across 68 injection moulding machines. With their combined heritage, industry reputation, technical capability, and broad market sector coverage the group represent a major player within the UK plastics industry.

The three companies located in Hull, Fareham and Manchester will maintain their current identities and strong market positioning, with the newly formed HR team partnering and supporting all three sites.

Group Structure

THE ROLE :

HR Advisor (maternity cover) 

Please note this is a 30 hour role, (what days and hours are flexible) and will be a minimum 12 months contract, potentially up to 18 months. 

​

You will provide operational support to the Senior Management Team and employees, within own designated business areas in the implementation of polices and practice in order to deliver business objectives.
 

Duties & objectives will include:

  • Provide first line guidance and advice to employees and managers in line with Company policies and procedures.

  • Support managers in delivering end to end resolutions with employee relations issues, guiding line managers through investigation and formal processes where required ensuring legal compliance throughout (conduct, capability, absence, grievance etc).

  • Be responsible for supporting the business with people related data, such as absences, reasons for leaving, demographics.

  • Be the Talent champion within business areas – leading on all Succession planning and talent activity.

  • Be Capability champions in own areas – ensuring that all Occupational Health intervention is timely and consistent.

  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of HR systems and practices.

  • To partner the Business using People plans and functional business plans in designated areas.

  • To Lead on all Recruitment, Manning, and Headcount activity within business areas  

  • Lead on all HR KPI collection within business area

  • Ensure all our legal obligations around onboarding are in place.

  • Take the lead for defined policy development.

  • Identify HR risks within own business areas and own all HR activity and action plans.

  • Support all Organisational Design activity within own areas.


Person Specification:

  • Can engage with key stakeholders and be comfortable influencing and coaching leaders of people.

  • Have a structured and highly organised work ethic.

  • Highly personable with an ability to build close relationships at all levels.

  • Be confident in managing own projects.

  • Methodical approach to problem solving and attention to detail.

  • CIPD would be advantageous but not essential.

Package Details (company wide) â€‹â€‹

  • Full time position working 8am – 5pm Monday – Thursday and 8am – 2:30pm on a Friday.

  • 30 days holiday, inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata for 30 hours) 

  • Enhanced pension contribution.

  • Office based, but you must hold a valid UK driving license.
